Position Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating all resources required for our services business. He/she is expected to work with other leaders of the organization to identify the needs for people, materials, and facilities.


The Operations Manager maintains and delivers against a forward looking resourcing plan that considers future sales projections, backlog, internal skillsets, contracting relationships, and asset availabilities. She/he is responsible for summarizing and dashboarding the plan to management, driving continuous improvement to this process,
and ensuring top notch communication to all stakeholders. The OM manages all contract employees, and handles all aspects of their service from recruitment through release of contract.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
? Develop and maintain a comprehensive resourcing plan for our 
services business. Assignment of resources against that plan.
? Effectively communicate that plan and resource availability to all stakeholders.
? Continued engagement and understanding (internal and external) of the fluid resourcing needs.
? Conflict resolution of resource shortages.
? Lead weekly resourcing planning meetings with all stakeholders.
? Develop and utilize tools to analyze forecasted sales data and future needs.
? Develop and utilize tools to analyze backlog and ongoing project changes in regards to resourcing needs.
? Log, and drive the correction of erroneous data in our systems.
? Develop and maintain a resourcing dashboard.
? Tracking of misc. assets such of dongles, loose hardware, tools and equipment, test cases, etc.
? Fields and resolves all unplanned customer requests and project issues related to resourcing.

? Management of all contract personnel – Recruitment, contracts, orientation, training, deployment, performance, coaching, issue resolution, demobilization, reassignment, and closeout.
? Management and ownership of contracting firm relationships
? Owns continuous improvement of Operations Management, and annual performance improvement goals.
? Develop and implement policies, procedures, and work instructions that 100% document the practices within operations management.
? Participates in our projects as required for conflict resolution or
leadership activities.
? Actively recruits to meet forecasted demand.


Skills and Expectations:
? Excellent written and oral communication skills
? Excellent interpersonal skills within and across work functions as well as with superiors
? Attention to detail and above average organizational skills.
? Ability to work independently.
? Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, reporting services, and business systems such as IFS or equivalent
? Knowledge of process controls, varied automation platforms, and the various types of systems they interact with.
? Strong recruiting skills, and the ability to develop a robust contracting network
? Ability to work in a matrixed environment, and make sound judgement calls when faced with competing objectives.


Hiring Specifications:


? Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, or equivalent.
? Business degree, or operations management experience, particularly regarding resource management in a services business.
? Experience implementing control systems and leading automation project teams.
? Working knowledge of the Emerson Process Management organization and their products is a huge plus.
